Saffron Frameworks is a frame builder with a passion for designing and creating truly beautiful but functional bicycles. Every one of our frames are unique – designed and built for you.
There are many factors to consider when designing the perfect frame – the dimensions, which tube-set to use, the joining techniques, polishing and paintwork. But building the perfect frame always begins with understanding your needs. Your geometry and what you want from your bicycle informs how we design it and how it should feel to ride. And that’s important to us.
Once we’ve planned out the perfect bicycle, I’ll turn the design into a fully formed frame using a variety of materials and fabrication techniques. Every single one of our frames is crafted and finished with the same care and commitment.
Saffron Frameworks is based in central London but our customers are all over the globe.
In 2009, I followed my dream of becoming a frame builder. I’d reached a turning point in my life where I was unsatisfied with my daily routine and so I decided to bring my love of bicycles to the forefront and get my hands dirty by creating a tangible object. One which gives me much happiness.
I love bicycles and cycling and I know what really good bicycle design looks like. After spending many years of racing both on and off road, I also understand how a bicycle should feel.
In pursuit of this, I trained as a welder and worked for a while at Enigma Bikes, sharpening my skills and learning more about the trade before starting Saffron Frameworks.
Today I continue to love bikes, build bikes and ride bikes, both on and off road. The experience I’ve gained has given me an ideal base from which to create and express my own interpretation of this craft. Something I now happily do every day.
