George used to race, and like most racers he used an off the peg carbon bike. On his first visit to the workshop he was clear on his want for a bike that would perform like his race bike made from British steel. We chose the Reynolds 953 tubeset – oversized all round, mated to a custom machined 44mm stainless headtube. To keep the silhouette clean we ran the brake cable though the top tube and included the pinch bolt for the seatpost in the seat stays. Every bike we sell includes a fitting at Bespoke cycling, and George really benifited from this – finding more power in his pedal stroke and a more comfortable (whilst still aggressive) position.
Choosing the colour for a new bike is often one of the toughest parts – we knew we wanted to keep it simple, but that didn’t mean it needed to be boring. George browsed the House of Kolor website until he came to just the right shade of blue (Stratto) to compliment the exposed stainless rear end. Great customer, clear brief and cool bike; what more do you want?
