Jeremy came to the workshop with a stack of paper; print outs of his classic inspirations for his new bike. It’s always fun to work with someone who’s done their homework and Jeremy certainly had a clear ideas for certain features he would like on the frame. We managed to get hold of some NOS Columbus shaped tubing to give the aero look he wanted and decided to keep the geometry quite classic, with a minimal slope on the top tube and a standard 1 1/8″ head tube. We laid the fillets a little larger and integrated the pinch bolts into the seat stays to keep the aero theme running.
Campagnolo’s top tier Super Record V3 EPS group and Shamal wheels keep the overall bike weight down and we continued the Italian inspirations with a full Fizik finishing kit and Vittoria tyres. Paint inspiration came from Jeremy’s cycling club – their team colours offer a great contrast for main frame and other detailing.
This bike has headed straight for the mountains with Jeremy’s yearly club getaway. Enjoy!
Jeremy’s first ride report “Back from the mountains. Rode beautifully and turned many heads. Thanks again Saffron Frameworks for building the dream!”
