Pete wanted a classic-looking road bike with modern handling and performance. He was after something agile, light, and comfortable for spending full days in the saddle. We achieved this by using the highest-quality Columbus stainless steel XCR tubing, with stainless steel XCR seat stays and chain stays. To keep the weight down and maintain the authenticity of a classic road bike, Pete opted for rim brakes, choosing the exquisite Campagnolo Record 12-speed groupset to complete his build.

The paint design was inspired by the cars of his youth. The candy green used was influenced by the racing green of his second car, a Rover Metro. The orange accent running through his design was inspired by his Grandad’s old Dolomite, with the hope that the bright, go-faster stripes would give him that little extra on the tougher climbs. The composition and design were partially directed by Pete’s younger daughter, who had a very clear idea of how her father’s bike should look and actively participated in our design meetings. It was a pleasure working with Pete and his family to create a paint design he can be proud of.
